Shawn and I got to take a family trip up to Seattle in July. (That's how far behind I am in posting blogs). We hung out with my family and sister who was about to have the first boy in our family. Lord knows my dad has been praying for this day. Here's a family portrait. We have a hard time taking serious photos in our family.

We played Wii for the first time and had a blast.

Elijah Gabriel Stewart was born after my sister spent 26 hours in labor and then had to have a cesarian. Is there any wonder why I don't want to have children any time soon? ouch!! Here are a couple of photos of my beautiful nephew Elijah.

Shawn and I also got to take some random photos of ourselves. We don't have many because we're always to busy taking photos of other people, but I thought these were pretty cool. Now we have some photos.

Jordan and Michael's wedding

These two are awesome. It's hard to forget a name when on the first meeting they introduce themselves and say, "Just remember, Michael Jordan." Their wedding was so classic and elegant. She was pristine in a Vera Wang gown and he looked so classically handsome. The wedding was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Panama City and the reception was at the Visual Arts Center. It was cool, modern, industrial, and very chic. Larry Paul Catering did a fabulous job with the flowers and the food. The coolest part was when Jordan's brother caught the garter and his girlfriend caught the bouquet. We all know the tradition, right? The guy who gets the garter has to put it on the gal that caught the bouquet. Well, in the process of this great tradition, he got down on one knee and proposed!!! How exciting! And we got it all on camera so that she could relive the moment over and over again. It was all very sneakingly planned by Jordan's family. What an awesome bride to share her amazing and special day with her brother and his, now, fiance. Boys, learn from this and make some plans to capture your popping the question on camera. *wink* It was great and we had such a wonderful time. We wish you guys all the best. Here are our favorites.

Shannon and Joe's wedding

There are just some people that are oozing with love for each other and these two were like that. Shannon and Joe were kind, loving, very soft spoken, and so in love. They were so sweet to us and their wedding was so intimate. Their ceremony and reception were in traditional Hawaiian style and held at A Highland House which is so quaint and cozy. Tammy's amazing team at The Eventful Planner did such a fantastic job planning and coordinating the entire thing. Check them out. They are awesome. Bella Flora did the flowers. Margie and her team never cease to amaze me. Here are some of our favorites.

Alice and Max Engagement

These two had done this before. It's so easy to just take photos of people who know how to work it. Alys Beach is always amazing. No matter how many times I shoot there, I never get tired of it. Here are a couple that I loved. Hopefully you guys like them too.

Chincarini engagement

Seaside is such a unique place to shoot at. We shoot there a lot and sometimes it can be hard to get some new and unique locations, but this shoot was totally different. I love this engagement session. They were a little shy at first. But we got some amazing shot and some drinks they were ready to go. Ha ha. That's usually how it works. If you're ever nervous about a shoot, just have a glass of wine or a nice cold beer and you're good! Just one though. We don't want you guys looking dazed. Okay, I'll stop now and just post some photos before I get into trouble. Here are my absolute favorites.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this couple. They are beautiful, kind, sincere, and humble. She looks like a miniature Marilyn Monroe and he's a down to earth as anyone I've ever met. Their wedding was beautiful. Their reception, which was held at Monet Gardens in Greyton Beach, was cozy and romantic. Here are a couple of images for you to enjoy!

We've been so swamped with amazing weddings and beautiful families that we have had to ignore the blog for a while in order to stay caught up on all the editing. So I'm going to catch you guys up all at once.

Ripley and Nicole- What a beautiful couple! They were so unique and fun. Pretty much the craziest reception we've ever been a part of. We had a blast. I'll let the photos do the rest. Here are our favorites!

Another beautiful couple and a great engagement session. I have to find some new crazy places to shoot. I think I'm running out of space along 30-A. I'm also becoming a huge fan of paper parasols. It started out as a rainy, grey day but I'm so glad we did their engagement session anyway. Lalainya and Steve are a beautiful couple and they let me get original and drag them to all these awesome spots. I told her that I have a slight obsession with trees. I do! I LOVE trees. How can I not, when they add so much drama and texture to a shot. So there are lots of trees in their photos. I love this session. I do my best when the couple totally trust me even when I come up with some crazy ideas.

Makenzie and Blake

It's so funny how every couple starts off shy and quiet when we first start shooting, but after shooting for about an hour, they totally open up and are so fun. This happens almost every single time. I love it when they finally relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera. That's why I love engagement sessions. They get to know me and then on the wedding day, they're ready to have photos taken by someone they already know.

I got to shoot Makenzie and Blake's engagement in lovely Seaside, where she grew up. They will be getting married there on June 28, 2008. Stay tuned for the wedding shots!

Yet AGAIN!

I know, I know. I'm horrible about keeping up with blogs. What have I been up to? Last month, Shawn and I designed a new logo for 2008. We have a very clean, modern logo now so I've spent all month designing marketing material for all of our vendors. What fun! I really am a geek and actually enjoy all of this.

I also almost got arrested by a Forest Trooper for trespassing on a state park for a photo shoot of my husband's band, With Hatchet, Pike and Gun. Luckily, I got away with a written warning. Here are a couple of photos from the day. Thanks to our Topsail State Park for not arresting us and providing such beautiful, raw scenery for us to shoot in.

Michael and Jordan

It was freezing, wet, and pretty miserable, but we had so much fun in the midst of the weather. Jordan and Michael are getting married on June 21st and I can already tell we're going to have a fun time shooting it. You guys were great to work with and such good sports. Even though our noses were starting to turn purple and our hands were frozen solid, you guys still kept giving us some amazing energy and we got some great shots because of it. I love it when couples need no direction. These two just hugged, kissed, walked, jump, and smiled and we had the honor of capturing it on camera. We had fun. It was freezing for us and chilly for them since they're from Chicago. We had a great time. Here are a couple of photos from the shoot.

DWF Convention

I just got back from the 2008 DWF Convention in Tampa, FL. For once, they had a conference I could actually go to. My brain is overloaded right now with ideas and excitement. I'd be excited to be on of my 2008 brides because I feel like Shawn and I just took a giant leap forward. We met some amazing photographers that opened themselves up to us and shared a part of who they are. For that, I am so grateful. Among these amazing photographers were Yervant, Jesh de Rox, The Bebbs, Portrait Life Studio, and many more. I'll keep you posted on my new ideas coming for 2008. Stay tuned!

Nicole and Ripley

We decided to go to Alys Beach for Nicole and Ripley's engagement shoot. Alys Beach is very symmetrical and modern and was exactly the kind of place I felt like shooting at. Here are some of their photos. It's great when people just let me do what I want, even if it sounds kind of weird. The shots always turn out better when I can get creative with people. It's a great feeling whenever the guest at a wedding that we shoot like us so much that they book us for their own private session. Ashely and Mike are a newly engaged couple that attended one of my bride's weddings and they decided to invite us for their engagement portraits. We went to the very beautiful Rosemary Beach in Florida and had a blast. Shawn is a bit of a punk at heart and likes to push his limits. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have gotten the beautiful shots of Ashley and Mike on the moped that was such a good prop. Luckily the owner didn't show up while they were on it. We got some amazing shots and would have gotten more if it hadn't been for the obsessed flies that kept attacking Ashely and Mike wherever they went. Here are some of the shots. Beth and I drove around for hours looking for hotspots along Northern Florida and Alabama. We had a blast calling attention to ourselves and I was able to capture some amazing shots of her in her wedding gown. She had always wanted fine art bridal portraits and I believe she finally got them.
